Big Ned was the first czech player ever came to the NHL started in WHA in 1974-75. The NHL debut came in 1997-78 season for Detroit and this jersey is exactly from that season.
Neomanský had a good NHL rookie year with 28 points in 63 games. Even in the playoffs he earned 8 points in 7 games but the Red Wings have lost against Canadiens. As it is not probably the playoff set, it should be his first NHL jersey aspirating to be also as the first jersey of the Czech player in NHL. Václav Nedomanský emigroval do Kanady v roce 1974 během dlouholetého působení ve Slovanu Bratislava. Od sezóny 1974-75 již působil v zámořské WHA, tehdejší konkurenční lize NHL. V roce 1977 podepsal smlouvu s Red Wings, kde se ihned zabydlel v základní sestavě. V prvním roce nasbíral 28 bodů v 63 zápasech v základní části. V playoff si pak připsal 8 bodů v 7 zápasech. Poslední zápas sezóny, ve kterém "Big Ned" skóroval, můžete vidět ve video koutku níže. Jeho gólová akce začíná v čase 27:30. Dres je právě z této sezóny a tedy jeden z prvních, který kdy jakýkoliv český hráč v NHL oblékal.
